85hp - enpugh for 650l tank
« on: March 12, 2011, 04:48:08 pm »
Afternoon all.

I know I've mentioned this before, but didnt really get a firm answer. Im about to buy an 04 Transit 300 SWB 85hp.

Is the 85hp enough to pull 650l plus?

I dont mind a slow van, but would it be enough?

Ta, Steve

Mine's 95 and pulls 600 perfectly well; I wouldn't be bothered by 80 and 650 at all.

(Just don't try to outrun any Ferraris)

With diesels Horse Power doesn't mean much - what's important is the torque the engine develops and how it's used with gearing.  It's totally different to a petrol engine.
