Ladders

Hi all,
        A question on ladders,what would be the best length to buy? I am only doing domestics.

i have a 3.5 meter point ladder which is what most people on here will tell you to get where are you based ?

Just in case this is taken seriously, please don't buy any ladder from bandq. If you are serious about buying a ladder for work please, please be careful and do your home work.

I have made a living for many years, using ladders. I have been up to some hairy heights, and worked at all sorts of weird and wonderful angles to get the job done. I have tied ladders together for better reach, and used them as bridges etc etc. I will always fight for my right to use them. If they are used properly they can be a good tool, but as we have all seen they can also be killers, even from low levels.

If you are going to buy a ladder for work, make sure that it is a good solid comercial grade job. It is best to get a new one , so that you are aware of all of the wear and tear that it has been through. if you are a fat bar steward you should seriously consider wfp as an option..... :D

Just don't rush out and pick up a bargain on ebay, it may well be your last.

Oh about 3.5m double is good.

3.5 mt double extension but buy a trade one and not domestic grade, there really is a difference, much sturdier and less flexible. Abru are a good weight to carry.

never ever buy a domestic ladder for work,
1/ It is not designed for being used all day and every day
2/ your insurance will be null and void

A set of double 12's will do you fine

These are very reasonably priced,inc delivery and vat,just make sure you change the feet to rubber ones as theyre sent with plastic ones which dont fill you with much confidence....
Good ladders,ive got a set of double 17's from them.
