Adding a Gutter Cleaning Service
« on: March 08, 2011, 04:37:48 pm »
Hi. I have been out door knocking and leaflet dropping over the last week or so - and its going quite well. I have picked up 18 definates.

One thing I am getting asked quite abit is cleaning gutters. I have read a few threads on here but cant find the answers I am looking for.

Basically does anyone use a guttervac and is the expense (about £900 really worth it?)

I have not got a clue on pricing, but looking at various websites for just to clean the insides of a typical 3 bed semi's gutters a typical charge is between £45 and £110.

Also, whats the best way to clean the outsides of the gutters? - with my WFP and trolley?, and do you charge extra for the outsides?

This could be lucrative option as many householders i have spoken to have a window cleaner that they are happy with but there window cleaner dont clean gutters.

As usual I welcome the forums thoughts

its worth the money! count the bracket on the gutter...normal a meter apart and that will give you a price...about £2 a meter

Def add it to the list of services you offer. The hourly rate is v good and I find most customers are keen for you to make it an annual thing. I have a couple where I make more for doing the gutters and facias once a year than the window cleaner calling every month.

If you are just starting out on small houses just use a ladder and empty / clean them that way. No biggy Will only take you 20 mins.

I charge £20 a side normally. £30 a side when they have a beamer on there drive :)
