Working at Heights, Escape plans
« on: March 08, 2011, 04:33:00 pm »
I am going to be working from a cradle from a roof on a building and want to know about rescue plans. The contractor says that the manual for the cradle says that there is an over-ride button that will lower the cradle down to ground level (which didn't work the last time we got stuck!!). My question is, Is that an escape plan or does something else need to be in place?

Self rescue you need ithink which is a device you can buy to winch yourself down i think

Best people to ask are jv price as he had a post about it t'other day or dave/andy willis at impact 43 as ithink they did have an affiliation with a firm selling the self rescue kits

best to get it right as there are some serious fines for firms that have to phone fire service for rescue

I know for a fact my mate will not want to winch himself down and I am wary of the contractor saying everything is sorted. we were stuck for four hours the last time.
