Hi All

I am just starting out on my own & need a reliable & effective carpet machine. I don't have a massive budget so I am stuck between a refurbished Ninja direct from Ashbys or a Mytee TCM1004 Speedster second hand. I have offered £800 for the Mytee & just wondering weather this machine is worth the cost or shall I invest more and go for the Ninja.

The Mytee has got 2x3 stage vac, 100psi & a heater.

Any information on these machines or any other machines that could be recomended.

I had two Speedster's when they first started arriving in the UK, they are heavy and have a nasty habit
of leaking internal vac pipes, which are situated right above the vacuum motors......bang! I wouldn't buy a new Ninja as Ashby's have a poor after sales reputation but look out for used ones.

I have had Ninjas and Speedsters and others. The Speedsters give you alot of machine for your money and never had a problem. The Ninjas are more solid but you can have limited pump life on the 400psi and they are not cheap.

I currently have a Speedster and after 5 years has started to give me a few problems but that expected new vacs, refurb pump etc. I'm very pleased with mine It's paid me back many times over.

I would buy another if I had the choice but being established gives you more options I suppose.
Anything 2nd hand may give you problems even new ones have teething issues.
If you are "handy" and can sort things out as they crop up a 2nd hand one is a good option, as long as you can get the parts.

I would personally go with a bigger pump option if you get the chance 100psi is quite low, you can upgrade the pump if the pump motor is man enough for the job. Check that out first!!!

Thanks for all your comments. What about a powr flite 1085 it's a year old and looks in good condition. Are these machines built to last?

Sorry Paul you sound like a windup or are you are a bit naive most things are built to last with TLC but hay some have mega problem with new! I know I did with the wife’s new car told her I needed a new van but would she listen

Word of advice before you learn how to clean carpets , learn how to repair what you have got (return to base can cost) oh your profile web site blankety blank
