Hi all,

Whats the highest TDS reading you have had to work with

Obviously 000 is what you want but there must be the odd occasion of runing out of resin or a problem with the RO system ?

Reason for this question is i have just had a prob with my RO unit and have a tank full of 018 water.

I'd use 18 if I absolutely had to and not be too worried.  Why not give it a go on your windows and see if it dries well enough for you to be confident in using it (it's your confidence that matters, as 99.9% of customers won't see it anyway)?

Also, if the tank in your van is half full of 000, then when you top it up from your feeder tank full of 018, it'll be TDS009.  Then when you put more in your feeder tank, that'll dilute the stuff in your feeder tank.  If you don't have a feeder tank, half enpty the one in your van, top up with 000 water and you'll be back at 009, which will definitely be OK.

I happened upon someone using 072 TDS last summer (he didn't have a meter, so I checked it for him).  He'd had no complaints...

anything up to 10 and you quite safe. we only use resin through the summer months as it dries quicker and we get alot of first cleans

I made a decision this mornng not to go with it just in case. That means a double catch up tomorrow - and what a waste of this great day !  Well somewhat.

That must cost you a fortune on resin

  I accidently use 030ppm, no problems what so ever, I would have gone wit 018 without giving it a second thought.

  You've wasted the day, don't be so worrying next time, I reckon you could get away with 050 on regular customers who don't have a good inspection like a new customer would.

  Try it, you may well be surprised.

It does make you think that you could fill a quarter (or more) of a container with your tap water and top up with pure?     Use less resin for sure!

i think ill stick with 000 tds!piece of mind!im only going to be using about two 25kg bags this year (DI ONLY).

sometimes my tap tds shot up to 70-100 during october/november last year.

funny enough been using 28 today came up fine waiting for the resinb to come good job i had a few good barrels to use. have got the old resin in a big bucket and was putting the out let of the vessells and filters whitch was coming out at 60 into the bucket and was manually filtering  the top water into the barrels that was 16ppm result

Well there is a surprise - i thought we all strived for 000 most of the time, tbh though i would now agree anything up to 010 on regular customers is sweet.

If you have a fussy customer who inspects all the time you don't want them anyway imo.

accidently used 35 before...no problems. on regular cleans

I normally dont go over 0.10, but checked mine today and was working with 0.57 and they were still coming out ok
