John guest fitting for brush ??

hi

i have a y piece on my brush but if possible i want to replace it with a push fit john guest type fitting so i can remove the brush when needed without having the heat the hose to get it on and off is this possoble if so what size fitting do i need is it the 1/4 inch T fitting i need ??

there are plenty on the net and ebay - you can go for a 'T' or a 'Y' - most pole hose is 8mm dia.

I think the push fits can only be used if you are using fan jets as they use the larger 8mm hose, if you are using pencil jets the pipe is smaller than 8mm.


You could get a straight 8mm push fit, cut you pole hose before the plastic y and put a push fit there, you will still have the y connector but you can then use the straight push fit as the quick release

If you cut the hose level with the top of the pencil jet - the 8mm hose will fit over the old hose, and then into the T. works a treat
