Jason, how many pads do you normally buy. I looked at Jon Dons site and enquired about shipping charges for a couple of boxes of 6 pads. I have a texatherm system and been using fusion 8 but not
getting great results lately. My pads are pretty knackered though. You seem to get a great deal more square footage out of your pads than I do out of mine!

There are brown strips built into the pad which provide agitation , the whole carpet looked instantly better after the first pass, the pad was brown looking . After the second pass the pad did not appear soiled at all.

Sorry to be thick, was it the same pad on the second pass? If so where did the dirt go?

Pads are double sided,turn them over.
Either you have a lot of pads or you rinse them on the job.

We've got a texatherm machine that I bought second hand about 3 years ago, used it for a contract we have (450m2 of low profile every two months) after the second clean customer complained about the finish and we went back to HWE.  Never really used it much since.

Got a job to do in a fortnights time (780m2) of flotex, I'll take the buffer along for that and try it with Surround encap from Restormate as I've heard very good results for that product.

Ian,   using a rotary pad machine on flotex is not really advisable, the fibres grip the bonnet putting a lot of strain on the machine, hwe works much better on flotex. If you do try it, make sure the pad is well lubricated and hold on tight.

Derek , the carpet in the video is Flotex , I have had 3 people call me this week , and tell me that they find HWE on Flotex near impossible.

Someone else local to me called and said Dry fusion would not have done that job , on this occasion a high speed buffer and soft pads were the way to go,  the carpet looks better in real life than on the video, the customer is delighted ,and the carpet passed a white towel test.

I've always found flotex easy to clean,  a bucket of hot water with power burst in and extract with wand

A bucket of water would not have gone down well with the 58 pieces of cv equipment powered by cables in  hatches on the floor

Jason,  I stand corrected. The reason I say hwe is better is purely because of the problems associated with the rotary gripping the carpet. Over the years I have tried various slow speed machines on Flotex but found they gripped the floor too much unless you put loads of prespray down regularly. My faster Dry Fusion machine is definately not up to the task especially as the grippers on the pad holder tend to flatten out very quickly under strain.

You obviously do not have that problem with your system. Do you put this down to the speed of your machine, the chemical used , the pads or combination of all three.

Always find if you do geta carpet like flotex if it starts to stick to the carpet  i try and put the handle on a really low setting..The only drawback is it wont do your back any good

Keep the floor well lubricated and you don't get as much pull/grip, the friction from the pad aids the drying as well as the 'mopping'

When agaitating pre-spray with a poly scrub brush attached to a rotery does the carpet also need to be extra lubbed?
Is there a risk of damaging a carpet with too much poly brush scrubbing?

Waiting for my poly scrub brush drive plate to come through the post.

Yes, a Dry Fusion machine will definitely not do Flotex. It literally stops dead.

The strange thing is that the pads look really similar.

I'll have to get the old Dowding and Plummer rotary out now!
