All poles and clamps will wear over time, gardiners clamps have great clamps with plenty of wear space.

When the pole and clamp is new there is spare, as the clamp and pole wear the gap will close until it is at max and the pole will slide and spin. Gardiner do have upgrade kits for pole clamps that give longer life to the pole.

I am looking at this at the moment, I want to know if the replacement clamps are simply new clamps or whether they have a narrower diameter to allow for pole wear as well as clamp wear.

gardiner poles are the mutts.

They are easy to adjust, a quick flick and its done. The old ones have a nylon nut which is a pain. These are far easier to use.

totally recomend the poles

All of them will wear out beyond repair. You need to speculate to accumulate. I have seven old fibre glass poles that have worn down so the clamps don't work. I have spent ages trying to tighten them. I have even fitted plastic shims inside the clamp to give it a bit more life.

Really what is needed is a replacement clamp that has a narrower diameter to allow for the wear in the pole. I will mail gardiner to see if they have done that.

The gardiner clamps are by far the best that I have come across.

Ive recently invested in 3 gardiners poles, they are great but on each pole the  middle clamps keep spinning, they sent me glue but its no good still have same problem. Also the adapter on top of pole were brush goes in is spinning. I think i must hav been unlucky with the ones i got cause they are great poles...

Apologies that you are having this problem with the poles. Please contact the Office on 01726 66400 and we can arrange to collect the 3 poles and remedy the problem for you permanently.

Alternatively our technical chap can talk you through the gluing procedure to ensure a trouble free bond, if you would rather fix it yourself.
