most window cleaners that have tradded for a long time have probably done much worse, i have to admit i probably have, although after wfp for so long ive gone all soft and when i use a ladder im over careful,

To be perfectly honest you need ladder training, make no mistake what you are doing is totally unsafe.

Contact David or Andy at Impact43 and do yourself a favour, get trained as that ladder will go higher and make the job easier.

Would you mind If I copy the picture and send it to the H&S and seek their advice as to what they think?

This is the type of action that gives window cleaners a bad name.

 I did originally have  the ladder higher but as I previosly posted the door was not secure (on latch & not bolt). That is why Ihad it resting on the railings as I said in previous post. No offence taken.

You may well consider this photo for your rogue gallery under the sub heading WFP!

IF some one knows how to delete the phone number from his van on the other photo I can send it to them to post on my behalf.

get a grip window cleaner have used ladders for 40 odd years,and will continue todo so.

in the eyes of big H&S NO LADDERS WOULD BE USED,get real,kevin knows what is safe and what not todo.

If you have a trusty Harris pole you couldve done all of those doors from ythe ground with trad tools. Nice sets of ladders

 I posted them  as I thought they were great photos that I was proud of with no thoughts or remarks as what I thought about bad practice etc.  I took a lot of flack on cleanitup for posting them & for showing name & number.

i bet a lot whos said its not safe may only have used wfp, when looking back i took some daft risks, it s what was done, never again though, working off ladders can be safe for lots of people, but us wfpolers think it must be wrong if your using a ladder,

that really is one for the ( I want to kill myself wall)
van roof and water, slip hazard
roof rack and hoses thats 2 trip hazards
the roof bars can cause a hook up
constant instability due to the pole
no fall arrest or crash bags.
and to make sure a nice hard surface to fall on and maybe a car to run over him just to make sure.
that would cheer the traffic warden up when they spot him on the double yellows.

Did nobody see the other two posts on here regarding window cleaners falling and killing themselves?

I have used ladders for 25 years now, they are a perfect tool for the job. I prefer wooden ones myself, and I know some prefer aluminium.

We always carry ladders on our waterfed pole vans as each window cleaning tool - ladders - pointer-wfp-squeegee - etc has a place where they come in handy.

Just think about what you are doing and be SAFE

What's wrong with that> The van pic is fine.  The van has a guard rail around it (well three inch high ones on two sides anyway)
