Bumper, I spent 3yrs using fibre glass poles, not knowing that the carbon stuff was out there. They look expensive but they are revolutionising wfp in the way that wfp has done for window cleaning. In terms of investment and return these poles are fantastic.

If you are genuinly skint, go for the clx (which are good poles), but if you have any spare cash get yourself a carbon gardiner pole, they are the mutts nuts, and will pay for themselves in no time at all.

I have a slx-30 and a clx 14. Next on the list is slx-22.

Actually ignore all that, I have got some very nice very cheap 25ft fibreglass poles, as well as a lovely 35 footer. They look great and will only put your back out a little bit. Well worth it, I reckon....

The slx is a brill pole, go for it.  If you want to save a bit of money, do you really need to get the gooseneck an angle adapter would probably do the trick and do you need the flow valve.  And if you got the extreme brush you'd save a few quid.

Clx is cheaper option (22 is a light pole). I prefer the standard adjustable gooseneck - simply because you can adjust it.

Never used the extreme brush but wonder if it can be as good as the standard sl brush as I understand it has fewer bristles.

I do find I can do the majority of my domestic work with a 17ft xtel fibreglass pole - clamps are easier and less pole hose to snag/tangle. If you don't have to reach over a lot of conservatories and flat rooves it is a good pole to revert to IMO. I alternate between that and clx22 for most of my work.

Take the gooseneck off as you wont need it on that length pole and also the flow valve, that will reduce the price a bit...

I agree, just go with a plastic angle for now. I would have the "quick release" end though for a future carbon goosneck- super light, super rigid with zero flex! (the carbon neck, that is!)

I wrote to them yesterday to see if there were any coming price reductions due to the release of their latest master piece  

Sadly there will be none as their stuff is much in demand  

So I think I'm going to either wait until April the first and buy one of the new poles or try and decide on one of the others.  I expect the majority of my work will be average houses but there are so many near me with very high windows, 3-4 floors.  I'd like to get a one pole solution and I guess the lighter the better.

Too be honest there poles are light enough for every day domestic work and I think there new poles will be ideal for work 45ft and above so personally id go for there current slx range and save your money, you say you want one pole too do all your work including 4 storey houses, there new range are 18,25,48ft so youd need a 48ft which wouldnt be good for everyday work so why not get a 18ft 0r 22ft clx and a 30ft or 35ft slx, you could get 2 of these poles for the price of the new 25ft extreme...

   I think SLX is a good choice.  If you have a full or over full workload, the lightness of the SLX will make you an extra fiver a day - and that's a conservative estimate.

Don't think he will find you if you keep changing your appearance. You look nothing like a fish now.
