How many jobs would you expect to get from 10,000 A5 double sided colour leaflets?

I was always lead to believe 0.02%.... I can't remember who came up with that figure though, but it was on CIU...

I was shown a leaflet buy a new customer today which I posted when I was first starting up... 3 years ago.

I would say it's pretty difficult to get a definitive answer to that one Simon..... ???

I have always leaflet dropped, and at the moment in an area I have never covered before my average is 4 per 1000.

This is slightly lower than the same time last year, but up on January.
Cost £120 for 10,000 pay distributors £25.00 per 1000 total cost £370

say a good average of 35 jobs at £60 average ticket =  £2100 income minus £370
is a good healthy profit on the leaflets of £1730.

I know there are other costs as well, but this is the way I price the effectiveness of leaflets.

So to answer you Simon I would be happy with between 25 and 50 per 10,000.

for a one off drop over the next 4-6 months 10-12

we are doing our leaflets solus at the moment we get about 2 calls within the week from 3k leaflets but with experience i know we will get more from them in the future.

but we have targeted a new local area with about 12k over the last 4 months and only had 2 jobs, it is a hot spot for leaflet & charity bag delivery. so not everything is guarenteed

I thought 1% was the average although it's hard to calculate scientifically.
Some days I'll put 100 out and get 3 calls, other days 300 and not a single call. Some calls come in within the hour of delivery, some keep hold of them for 2 years before calling.
Putting them out on the same day as the free newspaper is not a good idea and likewise trying not to pick the same day as the pizza/indian menu cards helps.
Sunday is considered the best but you've got to be tough skinned to be delivering on the day that people want to be left alone and not bothered by junk mail.

does everyone else suffer from charity bags & pizza menus? I've noticed over the last year more & more homes having signs on the door saying no charity bags or menus..... some just say NO JUNK MAIL

Quite a few say no junk mail, but as it is not junk, and it has no stamp on, it is not mail either. They get one through the door, only had 1 complaint and we beat that one with the ASA.

more and more pizza and indian leaflets, and most days the postie has a big handful of leaflets too.

When I get called, or myself stopped for delivering free junk mail, I point to the corner of my leaflet and show them the tiny 1p, and say it's not free but costs 'em the 1p. That shuts 'em up!

Yeah we do,loads of them,am thinking of moving the recycling bin next to the front door.
I have had 1 job so far, from the 200 or so I have delivered recently,I have a 20% off offer though,so I find people hang on top them.

3 jobs per thousand = 30 jobs.

Repetition of areas already leafleted will always yield better results than a one off drop.

I would say about 4-5 jobs per thousand roughly.

Now work this out, 4 jobs ive had in the last 2 weeks where they have recently recieved my leaflet, but when asked where they got my number from..........the internet!
Straight away you would think my leaflets crap, ineffective and getting binned straight away but i do ok out of leaflets.

The funniest thing ive found lately is a few people come running out of the house and making a show of throwing my leaflet in the recycle bin and slamming the lid down its hillarious.

Cant wait for the next person to twist they will be getting a lengthy lecture....would they rather me and my family be on benefits, state of the country etc etc

Depends

If you have a low price on them you get better response.
