hi guys whats the best way of getting rid of cats pee smell i cleaned a flat lounge 2 beds hall and stairs empty property with a reel potent cat pee smell i used deoderiser in the machine and sprayed it neet after but 3 day later landlord gone in and still smelling thanks

Could be in the underlay mate,maybe replace it or take some of the carpet up and see if its gone through

The secret to deodourisation from any source is complete or as nearly complete as possible removal of the contaminant. Only by doing this can you have any hope of success. There are no magic formulas that you can just spray on. There are some really good products but you have to give them a fighting chance.
We guarantee odour removal for isurance companies. In extreme cases this entails removing parts of the structure and even subfloors.
For urine in carpets you need to treat both the face fibres, backing, underlay and floor. If its wool then the urine will have absorbed into the wool fibres so you have to soak and flush a number of times to get it back out. In bad areas such as nursing homes the concrete floor under the carpet may have absorbed a substantial amount. This will keep on giving off an odour as long as its untreated. Give it a good clean, treat it with urine treatment then sheet it over with damproof membrane before putting the carpet back down on it. This is a good part of this business and should be charged for over and above a general carpet clean.

Hi For what its worth .First cats pee is in my opinion the worst to get rid off .Im not sure if deoderiser is the right thing to use as it only mask the smell .When ive done jobs with pee ive removed the carpet and looked at the underlay and replaced if it needed it .Sprayed the back of the carpet where the cat peed and then sprayed the carpet Remember when you clean a carpet that has cat pee on it you will bring the smell out again .Ive used Mpower and Clensan .Hope this helps Des   ps A house that is wet cleaned and then closed up will always smell . You need air movment ,windows left open our air movers

Is it cat pee ?

I had an incidence of an odour like cat pee after cleaning a carpet last year and after a frustrating couple of days trying to remedy the situation I found out the problem was within the carpet structure . It was latex which gave off a horrendous stink when wet and proved impossible ( for me ) to get rid of.

The carpet was a long pile twist.

Mix two parts of water with one part white vinegar - Vinegar will neutralize the ammonia in the cat urine -. Apply the vinegar and water solution on the urine spot and let it sit and start to work. Blot it up with a clean cloth, let it dry and repeat if necessary. Once it is dried, sprinkle some baking soda and vacuum after 8h. Baking soda seems to help remove the cat urine smell.Try this mate.
