Booster pump query
« on: February 23, 2011, 09:56:02 pm »
I am going to have to buy a booster pump for my RO system as the water pressure is so low.  In the adverts I have read they say the pump can only be used for 60 minutes at a time with a cool down time of 120 minutes!
Anybody know how to get around this problem, or maybe sugggest a good pump to buy.  Thanks.

I wouldn't worry bout that. I just run my booster pump for however long i need. My 1st one lasted 4 years. Am on my 2nd one now though.

Mine has sometimes been running for up to 8 days solid and had no problems, if youre making water over night youre not going to keep getting up to switch it on and off!
Im not scared of heights, just falling from them.

What RO unit do you have?
I have the ROman style 5x100GPD RO and use an Aquatec booster pump.

Combat, how much water do you need to produce each day?
I have a static (IBC) tank, when my tanks on fill it takes about 24 hours to fill, thats with a 500GPD RO unit and a booster pump.
As booster pumps go the Aquatec is great as you can leave it on all day (no cooling down period required).
