Windows to clean WFP
« on: February 18, 2011, 04:49:32 pm »
Went to one of my custys house today only to get "it aint been 4 weeks already" i say its actually been just over  5 weeks!
he then says "well they aint even dirty" you are welcome to go to 8 weeks i say, he agrees, i think his wife would of been happy to stay on 4 weeks, im just wondering how many more custys are going to be saying this ???

I have to say the windows were still mint and they are on most of my other houses after 4 weeks even the 8 week ones are still very good!!

Surely its about keeping the windows clean so they dont get dirty!!

Then you will have to put the price up for 8/12 weekly ok wont be the same amount as monthly but it will make you more money per visit

I clean fortnightly and only have two monthly rounds but on my fortnightly work i never accept monthlys.

I would rather lose the customer completely then do monthly and let the rest of the estate do the same

I normally start at 4wks then after 3 cleans offer 6wkly & price from the start accordingly,
explaining the benefits of pure water.

If they ask for 8wk or 12wk, i quote for them at the moment as i still have the room on my book, but i will eventually look to dump as they are usually tightwads who think you are there to serve them in my experience .

They pay you to keep their windows clean, not clean them when they are dirty!

I am with Spruce on this one .One also needs to look at the colour of the water coming of the windows and quite often that will show dirty water and yet the glass looks clean.

im defo noticing this as well!!most of my round is 4 weekly and they just dont attract the dirt as much!!a way round it would be to trad the ground floors with loads of fairy liquid in ya bucket!!they ll be filthy after 4 weeks!!! ;D ;D ;D

seriously though im finding it great as i can really speed through work(when custy not in!)as most windows only need a quick scrub and rinse!!

depends on the weather as well.if its been windy then they can be dirty.and the good old bird muck is keeping me in a job!!

i have a lot of cheap compact work so i dont get many wanting 8 weekly.there are fields and trees to take into consideration around the property as well which can affect how dirty they get!!

i don't mind 4 wky going to 8 wky as i explain the price tarrif for 8 wky is + 50% of a 4 wky.

Surely this is a good thing though? You can make a lot more money if customers are on longer frequencies paying higher prices.

You just need a load more customers!

I did a commercial job today, it's six weekly and they were absolutely minging with salt and sand.
I'm guessing you don't live on the coast.

They are paying you to keep windows clean when it happens to me i say you can cancel but if you need me when you need me its 6 cleans so a £15 house will be £75 it puts them off, its hard to find a profesinal window cleaner thats honest for a reasonable price 8 weekly is my limit and its true 4 weeklys are quite clean so i dont blame them for going 8 weekly . if they cancel and call you after 6 months make sure you charge them x amount of cleans other wise your whole street can cancel cos they will think they can use you as they like for the normal price even tho they canceld months ago,i tell them if everyone did that i wont have a job.so we need to be strict.

just spent most of today doing a large community centre.

before xmas they had to swap to every 4 months...

so this was the first time i had to do them on a four monthly basis, thought they are gonna be minging!!

did the inside first - the trad windows looked a mess from the inside but the wfp still looked good...

sometimes a mix of trad & wfp works
