H&S report, method statement + PPE
« on: February 14, 2011, 01:03:26 am »
Hi, I have seen this question a couple of times in this forum - just wondering if theres a generic way of doing / writing this?
I have been asked to do one for a service centre - where the manager requires these 3 things for me to park the van in the corner (out of the way of anything) and run a bright yellow hose (this is the main problem according to him) about 2 metres - about 1 metre away from a door that people potentially can walk out off. How would I make this safe or write about it?? - I am thinking a cone would be fine..
Any help appreciated.
Cheers,
Rob

How do I write this up though?? - what is the general format of a health and safety statement - something along the lines of (excuse the long-windendess of it):

To make sure that any persons that may come out of the door adjacent to the van and the hose running accros the doorway are aware of the potential hazhard the hose may cause, I will put up 2 cones, with hazard tape - effectively blocking off anyone from walking in the working area. Furthermore, the hose is a bright yellow colour that makes it particularly easy to see and the cones and hazard tape would simply add to the safety involved by making sure no one attempts to step over it. This would provide ultimate safety both for me working there and any persons in the service yard.
