conservatory complaint
« on: February 12, 2011, 07:50:57 pm »
i had a complaint today.

i cleaned a 3 year old conservatory 8months ago (full clean) every 4months after i do a maintenance clean. but this month after the 2nd maintenance clean i had a complaint about spots and marks all over. and i her work they wernt there the night before

before i left to see i knew to my self that she cant inspect her roof every night. and it coinsadence that she saw these marks the day after and assumed it be me.

on arriving i could see that there were weird marks. the poly carbonate was clean but the mark were in the polycarbonate. it was as if the was big condensation droplets that ran and dried up leaving thick spots and run marks.

i told her this but she cant understand how they got there, she aid shes gonna get the conservatory people the have a look (another group of people to blame the window cleaner)

any one else have this trouble

At the bottom of each sheet there is a seal. Which would trap any water leaking into the polycarbonate. If the sheets are triangular the water would leak in at the top sides as there often not sealed with aluminium foil tape. This would show more on warmer days as the will condense half way up the sheets.the rectangular sheets are not inclined to do this us less the seals are shot at the top. If you used a hose from the tap if could show marks but it would not be your fault if the seals on poly carbonate are shot its mostly the way the conservatory was made as this depend on the tape used on the sealed ends of the poly carbonate sheets.I aften repair this type of problem as a extra service .

i didnt use a hose i rinsed with the brush resting on.
most of her conservatory has rectanglure poly carbs.
and at the highest point were the peak is (the fancie part) it over hangs slightly. i cant get water is the seal as i cant rise there as the brush hardly fits (only enough to wipe)
