The banks charge a lot for a little. Arrangement fees, high interest for relatively small amounts, bank charges here there and everywhere.
Anything over £2000 - £5000 depending on bank is likely to require personal guarantees from you, regardless of whether Ltd.
Be careful as they also have the ability to call loans (all types) in at any time. This all but finished a good friend of mine who, fortunately, had a wealthy friend bale him out for a year or so. At the time the bank did what they did he had been trading almost 15 years without prior issue.
One last point, it is worth checking as to any level of cover you get when using your credit card. If a private individual then you are covered by the consumer credit act (or something along those lines). This means that all purchases over £100 are covered should things go pear-shaped. As I understand it this does not apply if you are a business. So, you can pay an annual fee for a business card but receive no cover, or, take a personal card out, loan a director loan to the business as and when you make a purchase or class purchases as petty cash and have the cover.
