Windows becoming hydrophobic

Has anyone noticed that some windows seem to become hydrophobic after repeated wfp cleaning?
I am quite sure this is happening to some I clean as they do not sheet as well as they used to,  but maybe I am just imagining it.

To become hydrophobic, you normally have to apply something like rain x to the glass.

Do you have pictures available as it would enable us to see the effect better.

Hi,
They just do not sheet as well as they used to and the water beads in places especially at the top of the window.

Ive had a few customers that have had damp proofing sprayed on building which does this to windows which is annoying as they all used to sheet really nicely.

This is happening on my own home as well.
No sprays etc, just 000tds water.

I think the compound is vinegar.  You'd really need to be fussed to do this to all the hydrophobic windows once though.  Also warm water sheets better than cold.  I have found that windows that bead come up just as good if not better than windows that sheet once the work has been properly converted especially on windy days.

great if they sheet but what does it matter anyway?as long as the window is clean when it dries!! ;) ;D ;D


cant say ive noticed any difference on my own rounds windows.they always come up great these days!!in fact TOO GOOD a lot of the time as they never look dirty!!hopefully this wind will give me some muck to clean off for a change!!!! ;D ;D ;D

When I first started WFP, most of the windows over conservatories that hadn't been done for years sheeted perfectly. Many of these started beading the next time they were done.
Mr Muscle spray makes them bead too.

Yes, i've noticed this too. Its slightly different than normal 'hydrophobic' glass if that makes sense? Whereas normal hydrophobic glass seems to be left looking well spotty and pre defined runs down in the glass, the sort you're talking about almost only requires a brush over with the brush and the window is almost dry except for a few sporadic tiny droplets, and it doesn't sheet either. I notice this on some regular cleans and i'm pretty sure they didn't used to be like that.
