just with normal cleaning process - M Power, agitate, dwell and HWE.

Does sound like it to me, happens often with coffee as there is normally quite a quantity of it when its spilt.

You normally find a lot of it sits at the base of the carpet in the backing etc and then the wool will act like a wick when its drying and pull the reservoir of coffee to the surface.

If this is the case then you need to keep cleaning untill all the coffee has gone and then force dry it with a hairdryer to see if its going to wick back anymore.

I normally find a second visit will do the trick  & if you dry it then you wont get any surprise phone calls the next day.

Regards
Steve

Thought so Steve, that's the plan of action.
Take my spotting machine down tonight and
make it have it.

gcs

Very, very occasionally. If so it's not the minimum charge but just my charge out rate for however many minutes i need to return for.

ON a separate note it can be a useful "threat" in those circumstances when you have spent a long time managing to successfully treat a really difficult stain AND before you leave you make this statement about a further charge.-You know the sort of client. After you've left having explained that you can't neccessarily get a stain out 100 % they get down to the carpet with a magnifying glass and proclaim they "can still see it".

"Threatening" a further fee to return in those circumstances often means the client finds that actually they can quite happily live with a stain that is perhaps only 98% removed. And if they can't-then at least you have covered your back and can charge accordingly.

Does this answer help?

It's not the coffee stain, that's gone and never returned.
It's like small darker shades on the carpet, one about the
size of a saucer and 4  about the size of a jam jar lid.
They don't know what it is and neither do I.
Will post piccies up if I can figure out how.

Just out of curiosity... Did they try DIY stain removing? Have they caused it? Browning Prescription or you could try oxibrite with foam shampoo.
