If it needs topping up its not a leisure battery. The whole meaning of a leisure battery is that it is sealed and so is safe to have inside living areas like caravans and on things that might spill acid if tipped up like on golf trolleys.The point is IMO those sealed batteries are not worth the expense for window cleaning, plus they never seem to last long. A small car battery lasts longer and is cheaper.

A small car battery lasts longer and is cheaper.I got 3 leisure batteries over the years from a caravan outlet near Darlington and all 3 had filler caps to check water level and add water if necessary. There are different types of leisure batteries though. The last one I got a couple of weeks ago is a Numax and that is sealed. Interesting.Spruce
