i have a 22ft GARDINERS CLX pole which i use on most domestics.a great all around pole with a fantastic short closed length for ground floor work and its very very light.use it 80% of the time.

then i have a 25ft BRODEX HYDRA pole which i use for some bigger domestics and commercial.

then i have a 30ft unger teleplus 5 section pole that ive converted for just a couple of higher windows on a few jobs.

i also have a streamline 20ft glass fibre pole which is my "emergency" pole if i need it which just lies in my storage space most of the time.

also have a small extension pole converted into a small wfp that i use for cleaning the van! ;) ;D ;D ;D

for 95% of your work get a 24ft gf xtel pole just over 100 quid ...... then you will need a longer pole 35ft if you wanna keep it cheap would do you for the other 5 % of your work. If and when you need a bigger 1 you can deal with that at the time.

For ground & first floor a 18ft clx does the job

For ground, first & second i use a brodex hydra 25ft
Only those who risk going too far will truly know how far they can actually go

dont waste your time with crappy fibreglass poles, there a false economy, get a slx 18 which will do most of your residential work, and a 25ft-30ft pole to cover any 3 storey and higher windows,

fibreglass is bendy and wears out really fast there a waste of money

Parallel fibre glass needs overlaps and has a certain looseness in the joints, but tapered sections are stronger and stiffer.

I'd just get a clx27
If you found it was longer than needed for most work, just remove one section and keep it for when needed.
and you could always make a diy pole with a harris decorators pole as a back up / spare for not alot of money.
