You got a proper what?

NVQ?

It's not exactly a degree is it, and no one on here claims to be anything special for having it, the same way if i joined the fed , or safe contractor or any one of a number of guilds, organisations and accreditations , i would not be telling people i did it because it makes me clever or proud, its just another tool in a professional window cleaners portfolio to have the edge on competition when quoting

Your "proper" NVQ must 've been great if your stuck window cleaning , well done

I have City and Guilds.... 4 years day release and exams, but they are not worth jack s**t, as I'm not a printer anymore. I think they are a good idea and well worth taking if you take your business seriously.

I think you should all show more respect. This is the cleverest man in lancashire you are ribbing, and the second most clever in england by public examination- back when exams mean't something and didn't come in lucky bags.

i can understand someone wanting to better themselves
i was not having a go at any individual or training or any other qualification  just the  city and guilds 2 day course for level 2 window cleaning
the standards of the city and guilds must have dropped a long way to award a level 2 in 2 days or is there not much to learn :)

on training
the biggest arguments on this site is ladders and how dangerous they are and that most are wfp and dont use ladders please read the next bit carefully quote

Two full training days, split over a period of 2 months, full of great workshops, risk assessment and working at height certification.
what good will working at heights  certification if your stood on the floor all day

will this mean only 1 day training to get your city and guilds

I did seven years training for the print industry. Five years letterpress apprenticeship then two more years for lithographic training. Fat lot of good that trade turned out to be.

You don't even need GCSEs or A levels to get into University now-a-days, does this degrade the value of the BA or BSc Degree?
