Stumbled on this chewing gum remover
« on: January 26, 2011, 09:50:52 pm »
Stumbled on this. Never heard of this or the company before. If it does exactly what it says on the 'tin' then £20 for 5 litres is a real bargain. I've always used Craftex remover which is £6-£7 a litre.

Has anyone tried either of the 2 products named?

Seems a good price BUT does it work efficiently?

I only come across bad chewing gum and such on commercial jobs, then I reach for the steam gun, works a treat

The Craftex CGR has just had a massive price hike due to raw material shortage.

I prefer gel based products for gum personally.

Detak works but is not thick and creamy so doesn't stay where you want it to.

For a few pieces of gum D-Limonene solvent 20ml syringe with needle you can buy the syringes from ebay ink toner refill ones

If dealing with lots of gum steamer 2" wall paper scraper old t-shirt to wipe into

Cleaned a 10 pin bowling place with arcade and bar area, through the night me and a young lad, i had on the chewing gum 287 pieces at 80p a bit.

Security guard was about 70 mad as a hatter said he was bored so joined in on his hands and knees removing it with us

Also 580 sqm of carpet cleaned Altro in female ,gents disabled toilet and along the front of the lanes

D-Limonene with steam is the fastest way i have found and the t-shirt must of weighed about 1kg when finished ;D
