I have an enquiry for dry cleaning mattresses in a shop.

Any suggestions?

I am not sure how effective OMS would be on grease marks from peoples heads.

Hi Mike,

surprised there are grease marks as they usually put pillows at one end or at least a plastic strip.

OMS will reduce the mark put will be rubbish results. If the mat has a high cotton content that yellowing will be permanent. If its a synthetic you may be in with a chance with a L/m hand tool, U/p presray and acid rinse.

It will try quick with a blower,

I had said that a form of wet cleaning would produce potentially much better results, but the shop are saying that moisture could/would damage the matteress. This seems like a load of tosh given the amount that people sweat, pee and spill drinks at night.

The manufactures are remarkably quiet on an approved cleaning method for their respective products.

I know, its drives me mad sometimes.

Lemon juice is a great matteress cleaning product. You can buy lemon scented cleaners at the store, or mix a half cup lemon juice with cold water for a bleach like chemical reaction with most matterss fabric stains. Always blot the stains, or else they will spread and at the very least you will encounter a ring of ugly brown water spots after the area has dried.Mild white powder detergent is good for matteress cleaning, too. Be sure to use white powder detergent and not a liquid blue, it may stain the matterss worse.
