do you guys come across any?  in the last year ive had 3 approach me on the street  and im thinking they arent what they seem

 they pull up in a quite new motor and are immaculately dressed and through the open window start their speel 
"hello mate,im from london,can you tell by my accent ? what it is ive got some surplus goods that i have left over after calling at a nearby showroom  and wonder if youre intrested "

 these "surplusgoods " are usually big glittery watches  but im starting to think these blokes are not true "arfur daleys " , theyre  organized  ,as i heard one talking on his phone to a colleague driving nearby.       just my thoughts on it .

These guys have been round for at least 20 years!

An old favourite was to show you a magazine advert with the watches etc in.

They are moody and worthless!

If they were genuine they would be on ebay selling for the right money

I had one once. Nice car, sharp suit. Wanted to sell me quality jewelry for a bargain price. I have been approached by other types as well.

The best one I remember is a guy in a Transit, who pulled up and said that he had just taken delivery of some new TV's from Comet's. I thought to myself 'I wonder if Comet's know about it yet!' I wouldn't say he looked dodgy, but if I say he came across as dodgier than a dodgy guy from Dodgyville, I think you may get the picture. 

And no, I wasn't interested.

Ive had this many times....

Was stopped by a couple of blokes one time that tried to sell me a memory foam matress for a
silly price, i declined.  one of my custys bought one and the springs came thru about a month later.

Been offered watches, speakers and clothes.  Erith right about approaching window cleaners re cash.

slightly off topic but was once offered sainsburys vouchers to clean the windows....

i had a guy in a 60 plate car stop me and said i work over at the mercedes dealership in kingston ive got a load of these watches we get with cars and we wanna just flog them.

even had a mercedes bens jacket on....lol

Funny enough I had it yesterday by the same bloke who asked me last year, suit hanging in the back, apparently had watches that where intended for custys that had bought a Audi car with complementry watch but they wherent in so wanted too know if I wanted too buy this so called £400 watch....

the first time it happened to me was last summer . im a naive sort and this slick guy sensed a sucker - showed me the watches and i let him know i might buy 1 for my son
      but then i was losing interest as thinking my son isnt a watch wearer sort so the salesman quickly offered a deal       "all the change in your pockets in exchange for that watch on the front seat "

 i still had my doubts ,but that egged him on more ! (reckoned my pockets looked full) 
 "okay okay then ,its a deal "    and i emptied out my pockets ,amounting to about 7 quids worth of change   

 my son still hasnt worn the watch though !

Had the same happen to me last Friday outside Asda a fellow with watches with a large new B M W. Said no thanks and asked him if I could sell watches for him too.He just closed the window.

My father in law fell for the comet tv con in the 80's, when it got the box home it was full of polystyrene and some bricks!

Years ago this chap pulled up in a big van saying he needed help unloading his van...i was only about 17 out window cleaning and was like, erm ....

"how much you want to help me? itl only take about 30 mins"

"£50"

"ok come with me"

Foolishly i did, we were waiting for another van to come, he opened the back and there was stacked to top with new pressure washers...i waited for a bit and a van didnt show up...told him im off mate and  drove off.

Few days later he found me again lol...i said id be with him in 10 minutes. Never saw him again.
