Persian Rug
« on: January 24, 2011, 03:29:16 pm »
Had a call today regards a job that is cleaning a carpet a wool rug and a Persian rug.

The carpet and the wool rug are not a problem but I'm not sure about the persian rug with regards the best way to clean.

I asked the guy if it was a old valuable rug and he said he was unsure but it was a bit dirty and just needed a clean.

I got the impression that its not a really valuable item

Can these be done with HWE?I intend to do dye migration test first and use a low ph solution if it can be done HWE

Any advise please

Cleaned hundreds of rugs with HWE. Never done a dye test and never had a problem with dye running. Unless its silk you're worrying about nothing. If it is silk I'm sure the owner would realise and tell you. Just do what I've always done over the years. Easy on the chemicals/temp if unsure. And if you're really unsure then let someone else clean it.

Rinse on the acid side with a L/M hand tool such as CFR or Dri-master, and pre-vac off course.
"So basically its a big vax!"
