postcard suggestions ?
« on: January 23, 2011, 08:58:24 pm »
Hi all,

Im looking for some ideas to put on my postcards I send out as reminders, i normally just use a straight

forward image of a guy cleaning carpets, and offer a 10% discount, but thought something a bit more

humurous might capture their attention a bit more, or maybe a stunning image that they may choose to

keep !

Any suggestions ?

Picture of you serves as a reminder they'll remember your face and they'll know who they'll be getting to clean.

Shaun

PS it could also serve as a deterrent as they could put your face on the mantel to keep the kids away from the fire ;D

Steve if derek can't find it I will send you one them through the mail, I don't have it myself on my computer.

but I find the postcards from here are just as good.. www.judges.co.uk

you can buy some very nice postcards of landscapes or cute animals which look really good, you them put them through you printer and put a message on the back, of if you printer won't accept 300gm card you put sticky labels in the printer and then stick them on the back of the postcard.

I found a lot of people kept these more than my carpet cleaning themed postcard as they looked good so people stuck them on the fridge or home notice board.

This is one of mine. May not be your cup of tea but it works. I use it as a flyer and reminder card.

Thanks Mike i may take you up on that offer  :)

Nevil - I like the card it looks and sound very genuine rather than some generic type.

Do you find it produces much interest?

Think poeple will tend to keep a postcard rather than a flyer maybe.Spec with a nice picie on the front.

As a flyer it's been as good as any other I have used although I have not been putting them out regularly the way you need to with flyers so it's hard to really judge it. As a reminder it works well but I am not convinced it is because of the postcard. I reckon a sincere letter without any sales BS would be just as effective. I have a very simple text on the back that is deliberately warm and sincere because to much of the selling tactics would alienate me so I assume it would my customers also. I concentrate on trying to sound approachable.

I had a cartoon artist draw it about 10yrs a go, cost me £70.

this back is a proof sent by the printer and not the final version, so ignore the spelling mistakes

Hi Mike,

Do you mind if I use the image on this postcard ?

Think i'm far away enough from you for it not to be a problem  ;D

But I understand if you do.

Steve

this postcard is the most plagiarised item I have ever seen, i once even had a bloke try and sell me it  ::) ::) any one can use it, I wouldn't have put it up other wise ;)

DP print have the original of this without my details and speech bubble so unless you have your own printer you might as well use them.
