website builder training in college
« on: January 17, 2011, 07:13:03 am »
with all the talk about the importance of websites to our businesses and my lack of computer know how i got in touch with my local college and found there is a website builders course for complete beginers starting in february for eight weeks cost £75 so i am going to give it a go i can't do any worse than the guy who did my current website for £100, at least i will have a better understanding of it all. if that fails i am going to have to pay a web building company to build me a site as the one i have is not generating any business.

Buy cheap, pay twice.

You may have a nice website when you finished your course and you still won't get any response.

What do you want in the end, get bogged down in programming or get the phone to ring?

Choosing people to do web work for you is no different to anything else. Recommends and testimonials and just a little bit of common sense.

It's not expensive, you just can't afford it.

Hi

what wynne is say is that its the marketing of that site that's important. you dont need multi page sites just one page is all you need. having lots of pages can be negative as google's spiders look for the date stamp and size of the file to know if its been updated or not its this that will keep google coming back and giving your site it will need to get high rankings. then you just need to surf the net and link back from as many social sites as you can.

Thats it its as easy as that

or just put a one page site up and use adwords. depends on your budget

good luck

Why bother.
Just sign up for a site with Vista Print.
You design it yourself but it's dead easy, it's laid out
a bit like a word document, if I can do it anybody can.
You can put pictures on and videos on and even that
is dead easy.
They submit it to Google for you.

You've done well there considering you have a Safeclean site with CC batley as the domain name. You know the one where the guy has the portable in the living room and in another pic he's doing the stairs and the vac hose goes up the stairs. ::)

If you look lower down the listings carpetcleaning-batley. The carpet cleaning page. Notice they have messed up the title in the listings.
