Hi Kate, just wondering how you approach commercial customers in telesales? - When you phone up do you explain that it is a window cleaning company and offer an immediate quote (based on approximation / what your client has told you) - or is it a case of getting a lead and then the client can show up and give a quote at the place?
Cheers,
Rob

Hi Rob

Its really quite straight foward, its my job.

I think alot of it is to do with confidence.

Theres nothing stopping anybody from picking up the blower and saying " Hello im from X, would it be possible to speak to the person thats in charge of building facilities, maintenance" Just as long as you get to speak to the decision maker, thats the most important thing.  Then you need to tie them down into seeing you.  Give an option, either monday at 3 or tuesday at 11 dont give them a chance to say no.  Your then giving choices.   Its not difficult calling its high volume I would say you should be able to do about 20 calls an hour

Never be afraid, they get tons of calls a day

Hope that helps

I would definately see the benefit of using a service like this.

I heard of one place that charged £10 per hour of phone calls, plus a bonus of £15 per appointment made.

So if the person spent a whole day (say 6 hrs) doing calls and you got 4 appointments from it, the cost would be £120, which is a bargain, because if your any good, you should be able to get a good proportion of the appointments as customers.  This would be for commercial window cleaning only by the way, this wouldnt work for domestics i dont think.

I think that woud be acceptable to pay.  The thing is too, you cant just do it for one day, and if it doesnt work say "this person is rubbish".  Some days will be good, some will be bad, thats just luck.  I think you'd probably need to comit for a 3 or 4 days to get a good measure.

Just for the record kate, i really dont think you should ever do  free trial.  People will massively take advantage of that, and the service your providing is valuable.

Thank you Nick

Thats a good post.

It is about continuity and building your data.

No there wouldnt be any commission, just an hourly rate which Im still costing.

Some areas are harder than others admittedly, as another poster had said.

Ive done 1 trial and that was fine, so dont really need to do anymore

Your spot on also, some days good some days bad

i do think you need to look at it long term. you can't expect miracles in a day! i would look at it over say a 12 month period. lots of relationship building. Lots of finding details out. Lots of chasing your own tail. (by 12 months i'm talking minimal hours a week)
