Sod Met

Will this be any good on largish blood stain?
Or should I stick to cold water.
Just like using the stuff after seeing what it can do.

You could i suppose but I find blood pretty easy to remove using an enzyme chem. Or even a rust remover aparantly will do wonders on tougher blood stains.

No, wrong product.
Stick with the cold water first
Blood =protein based stain.

Stainpro/dwell/rinse
Enzyme/dwell/rinse

you need to remember that sod met' doesn't remove the stain just alters it so it's not visible.  blood needs to be removed

With blood in large quantities it is always good to finish off with a stain absorber.

Gary - Reducing agents (like sod met) and oxidisers (like hydrogen peroxide) are two of those those solutions that are used most effectively with experience and if you aren't familiar with them try experimenting at home rather than on that expensive Wilton you are doing tomorrow.  It is easy to get it wrong.

For blood John Try this
When you arrive at the job saturate the area with cold salt water (strong)
Get machine put in cold water,
wait 20 mins, so half hour dwell in total then rinse out.
Apply Stain pro, leave 10 mins and rinse again
Always advise customer that a second visit may be required as wick back is highly possible with blood staining
Then sanitize your equipment

Cheers for that Mark.
I was going to look at it tonight as it involved 2
rooms a landing and stairs but she's just rung
and cancelled. Said she can't make it as it's her
elderly mothers house who's now in hospital.
Won't be holding my breath.

Is there a chemical I can use to neutralise the smell of sod-met on a carpet, as you know its a potent odour. ???

strangely enough a few years ago when i wore a younger mans clothes i got into a bit of bother on a saturday night as you might and with blood down my shirt a guy standing at the bar told me to blot it out with milk. i don't think i tried it then but out of interest i might try it next time i come up against a blood stain, hopefully not on my shirt this time!

Re-arrange these two words and remember them when you deal with blood:

Back, wick.

Big problem

Also bare in mind the health and safety issue of dealing with blood.  Not an area to be taken lightly.

Fraser, did those people from the Indian Embassy at Edinburgh ever get in touch with you? (Sorry for the sudden change of subject!)

I always wondered how the hell they got my details ;D
