Would you pay 10 x clean for good quality work
« on: January 06, 2011, 07:44:04 pm »
The following advert has just appeared on http://www.windowcleaningroundforsale.co.uk

NEW ROUND FOR SALE

Region : National
Area : Harrogate
Type : Domestic
Price : £15,000
Monthly average : £1,500
Established : 1
Comments : Established window cleaning round. 1 weeks work for 2 men (potential to buy further weeks now or later). This is premium work at high value houses. Jobs average over £20(I can\'t find another advert that averages the same for domestic). Area compact. Please no timewasters - if you want to pay 4/6x monthly clean then look for a round with average houses less than £10 and take your chance with non-payers, dogs and all the rest that comes with most! I am looking for 10x but you have the potential to earn serious money here. Plenty of facias, cons roof work etc on top. No part payment or pay as you go. No hidden stories, will work the jobs together if required for changeover.

Please go to our website for more details.

I think the only possible buyer he would have would be a redundancy guy who has the spare cash and believes he could develop it. :o

 hi
i would pay 4x for good wfp work. not 10 x or anything like.

it would be cheaper to pay a pro sale person to rep for your round for you than that.

i have paid a lot more for a business though when it was the whole thing, commercial contracts equipment vehicles, staff including supervisors.

the sum of its parts are worth more when its like that.

 cheers

Why is it always I wouldn't pay that for it........ask yourself how much you'd want for your business that you'd spent years and years making better! Personally you couldn't buy my round for x20, I'd want much more, my round is worth just over 8k every 4 weeks and I have one guy full time and a part time guy, me personally I don't do anything now and I draw a very good wage until the day I die! That's why I would never sell it.

I like the sound of that - how long did it take you to get to that point of not actually cleaning yourself and getting workers in?

That advert is a come on. £1500 a month but its work for two men???? Difficult houses by the sound of it. There are a lot of difficult Victorian town houses in Harrogate. He goes on about all the potential and yet he hasn't developed the potential and sold the round for more.

You can't sell a round and say is got potential. Potential for what? Knocking on doors and getting more work YOURSELF! Why pay someone 10X for the privilige of canvassing up your own work??

Far too much marketing speak in that advert. My guess is that if you checked up that round will only have been canvassed up in the past few months although it says established 1 thats probably bending it a bit. Who sells a dogs whatsits round after a year?

As soon as he sells it he will probably be back on the beach in Thailand or Goa till the money runs out. Probably getting his benefits paid directly into the bank and renting out his council flat while he's away. That seems to be the general story.

Then when it does run out he will be back to Harrogate and canvass up another one. With loads of potential no doubt.

A fool and his money are soon parted.

Crystal clear nailed it. he doesn't seriously want to sell. But if some nutter comes and pays that price, then he will and he can easily replace that work and have a bit of cash in his pocket.
