[GB Window Cleaning]

i scratched one of my custys windows yesterday with the scourer on the end of my applicator 
i thought they would of been designed to NOT sctratch glass! 

I was getting some stuborn bird poo off! as anyone else done this? think i might use my blade in the future!

The plastic scourer cannot scratch glass. If however there was sharp grit in the bird muck & you were rubbing it into the glass,....

sounds like you had a bit of grit on ya T MOP.the scourers wont scratch glass.

if the glass has a film on it ie tinting iof some sort the scourer would scratch it

thats what happened those things can embed the dirt and then they do scratch
they become very abrasive use gently with much less pressure
they still work but not likely to scratch

thanks everyone, i just hope the old man who lives there doesnt notice to be honest. 

As for the scourer, it is the type on the end of my "T mop"  not a plastic scourer as somebody mentioned!

after reading these replys ive come to the conclusion it was grit in the bird mess then got rubbed into the glass on my scourer!

I done a job on a £4 million house once. There was cement on the glass. Not loads but splatterings of it. Got a brand new blade to get it off. No problem at all,but after apping and blazing it,every piece of glass had some "serious" scratches on them. It's almost put me off "blading" for life. Oh by the way,I never went back. I know it's wrong but he asked me get it off and I did. But I'm buggered if I was gonna fork out a grand replacing his glass. He was one of these bankers who have ballsed us all up anyways. I still manage to sleep at night :-)

didnt you soak the glass first before scraping ? shouldnt scratch if you did

i think it was tempered glass bud. I'd been using a sraper for years with no probs at all. But it just "did" on this glass. Like i said, i dont feel too bad(although i admit i should) He was an obnoxious, horrible, tight git. I remember hearing this guy speaking to his mrs while i was there. I wouldnt speak to a "dead" dog like he spoke to her. And that was while i was there. God only know what he's like behind closed doors. Too much info, right? lol
