Water Pump Fault
« on: January 04, 2011, 10:26:01 pm »
Ive always been used to Shurflo on demand water pumps. That is, maintenance on them for me was changing the brushes assembly and O ring seal. In my experience they either worked or didnt ( ie silent ) and they lasted years and years for me. Well I've recently acquired a Alltec Advantage and the water pump I've never seen before on it. Which hasnt been a problem until now. On googling pumps I gather this type of pump is a 'Hitrak'pump. It does look quite a beast compared to the Surflo. Well I now have a fault where its pumping but not sufficiently. Water is just about dribbling out of jets. I know it can be various things but my questions are. Do these pumps run without brushes because I cant find them. All I can see is a bit of circuitry attached to the side of pump. And also, but I'm not 100% certain but I'm sure the pump doesnt sound like its running as fast. Do these pumps acquire a fault where the just run slower?

Thanks
Chris
