they are brillaint if you get them sign written, that way when their broken down at the side of the road everyone will be able to see your number and services offered ;D ;D unfortunatly due to the fact they hardly ever run you will struggle to carry out any of the work

we have had a couple of old transits with high mileage but still good vans, another van to look at might be the ldv, not fast but weve had 3 or 4 and been very reliable and good workhorses

If you want a vivaro and you are on a tight budget then get a 51 or an 02 plate with a 5 speed gearbox I think these ones were ok

I had an 04 Transit SWB T280 model, the wheel arches were going rusty and along the body work at the bottom,it never gave me any trouble only the rust and therefore I would'nt buy another one so I down graded to a Connect LWB and there is only 100 kg payload difference,at least if has rust around the arches you dont see it due to the plastic arches! ;D

The thing is i do like the look of the vivaro... who would agree a 51 or 02 plate with a 5 speed gear box be decent?

IF its just rust on the wheel arches i guess this can be sorted out its things like gear boxes head gaskets, things like that that scare me,
i was hoping to go for transits but some of you dont like them cos of the rust thing how expensive is the rust to fix and will it come back how often?

How about vito/sprinter or  citroen relay then?

im not looking for super van I do understand vans can go wrong, as a matter of fact my little combo went wrong it was gear reverse and gear 5 had it fixed from a back lane garage for £60 works fine now.

I am just wanting to get something thats not known to break down but i do need to get to the bottom of this i will need to get a new van very soon.

he cant get it out the garage  to put a for-sale sign on it lol

ive got a LWB merc Vito - so far no problems , the go like stink ( 2.2 turbo ) only downside is my old citroen distpatch had more head room in the back , the vito's are quite low - o ' and the seats are rock hard !!!
