Why did you lock the electric hose reel thread mate?
I am sure there are many who are interested in electric reels, but haven't a clue about how to set one up. Talking about clutches for the reels would hardly bring a huge response, no need for you to spit your dummy.
After reading your post,
I was engaged in searching for suitable motors for hose reels. I found some that maybe up for the job.

I come back on here to ask you if one of these would do, your the expert, but you have locked the thread so I guess we won't know.

So why did I bother?

Slumpy won't tell you anyway. He is great at offering an abstract idea but won't help anybody to achieve it. Ask him where he got his parts and apart from the obvious Gardiners for the reel and screwfix/BnQ for the drills he won't tell you. To be honest I wish he would stop going on about it.

In a very recent post TomCrowther asked Slumpy directly for advise and help. Slumps answer - NO. Not to be put off Tom (I assume) said he would ask an engineer mate and would put his answer up for all if any good. Very helpful and in the spirit of this forum. However I am a little disallusioned with Slumpy at the moment because that's not Slumpys MO at all.

Slumpbuster,

You opened your thread at 08:13:28am today (a day which many people are not working) and then locked it 3 hours later, complaining of too little interest.

First I saw of it, it was locked.

I would be interested in this, you have to learn to ignore the people who seem to have little better to do than slate ideas suggested on here.

I take it from the pics that this is not just a (hose) pipe dream (sorry), and that it is actually is being used?

It's being debated elsewhere, very fully, and there do seem to be a couple of products that will do the job.Nathaneal has found something, that looks to me like it would work, it's just if someone has the guts to buy one.

That'll be an adapted compressed air torque wrench then?
