No December clean note to customers.
« on: December 20, 2010, 10:31:42 am »
When this latest batch of low temps hit last week I relised not going to get all mine done in December so Saturday morning spend an hour hand delivering a simple "sorry no clean in December note" to about 60 houses all in same area.

Spoke to a few customers who understood no problem and even got a tenner tip off an old bloke who is normally a right PIA  :o

Result is I felt a little better as now got less pressure to get them all done ... ok loss of income but they were never going to get done anyways  :( ..... plus stops any moaners in January.

Maybe a little ott but sometimes pays to go the extra bit.

Good idea Ian.

Most people have the sense to know why you havent got to them but someone always moans.

This is your first winter as a window cleaner so you are facing problems like this for the first time. I hope it doesnt become a regular thing because its a disaster for some cleaners.

Have you got a full round yet then Ian ?

Regards
Danny

Spent this year getting email address's....much easier...only a handful that either do not have or do not want to give it...this way I can contact them very quickly on en-mass..

Have also created a twitter account as an additional information stream...it's only used for cancellations, alterations etc...if people want to view it they can if not upto them.

There is a twitter application that will embed into a website so this will be used my new and revised website to keep customers informed. This way they do not need twitter but if they look on the site they can view a live twitter feed.

Keeping customers informed is key I have found whether you're at a train-station, airport or expecting expecting the window cleaner...if you know you are going to be late or a complete no show...customers will accept it in the main...If you tell them.

Ian101 I think that was a very smart move at least they know and they will in the main appreciate that you at least took the time and effort to keep them advised...just great customer service.
The more I know the less I know I know ...
