down stairs only
« on: December 18, 2010, 04:08:37 pm »
I was talking to another window cleaner and moaning about the snow and he said that he still went out but only cleaned the down stairs  so that the customer at least got the down stairs cleaned in time for Christmas, I was wondering does anyone else do this?

when its been really cold ive been tradding top and bottoms(tops  with an extension pole) with a big glug of screenwash in my bucket of warm water with a touch of squeegee off.

looks like ill be doing it again right up to xmas eve as the forecast looks grim!! ;) ;D ;D

just gotta find a way round the weather and do what we can to keep ticking over!!!

i will use wfp on a few bigger jobs(uppers only)that are unsuitable for the trad pole if i can get away with it without freezing hose/jets!!
price higher/work harder!

I started doing this at the beginning of the month when the first of the frosts and snow came, enabled me to get caught up, I'm now officially on my holidays, I didn't half the price though I just knocked a few quid off as most have connys, patio doors or bay windows just price it to your advantage and not once have I had to defrost my wfp system I just chucked it all in the garage and went out with traditional gear and screenwash, didn't get a single complaint, didn't leave a single puddle to ice over and didn't touch a grain of salt!!!! As for people on here going on about £2000 pure freedom hot systems etc I know what I'd rather do!!!!

contact with your customers is important most will understand you are battling with the weather at this time of year  i made a point of  contacting my newer customers recently to reassure them i had not forgotten them  as i was late   as they dont know me that  well yet all were ok and understanding.
