haha Gav i like you! honestly i was well ped of i have a surgery and opposite that i have 3 fronts i deliberately chose to delay these fronts for when the surgery is due so it would have been sweet! bloody backfired ;/ had to go home the fronts still due i hate it when my round becomes broken up like that...

it wasn't just the pipes freezing and water freezing on glass that made me wana go home i knew that it wouldn't freeze on heated property's cos it was only -1 and i only had the one empty which took me by surprise the main reason was water freezing on the ground!

i saw that as a hazard do you guys carry large bags of grit and grit around where you poled? i guess i should get grit sorted ??

but in general if i were to grit all over it would be a spot on thing to do ye ? ive seen big bags of grit for £9.00 i think ill buy one and keep in car i wouldn't like someone to slip and hurt them selfs.

i guess its just a winter expense

what about the windows directly above a doorway?buy the grit/salt and just carry some with you and apply when required.

i have tubs of salt and can easy carry one in my jacket pocket and just sprinkle the odd doorway/pathway as i work.

heavy snow here tonight so i dont think ill risk the wfp tommorrow.trad pole instead with plenty of screenwash in my bucket!you gotta be adaptable in this extreme weather!!! ;) ;D ;D

glass above doors i leave if really cold and tell custy about the freezing risk and would'nt want anyone falling over and discount price although they just pay full price never grit any paths houses or commercial their is ice every where and water which runs down from windows is staying just under window

crystal pure water will dry mint even if freezes on glass

This is not the rule in my experience,  maybe in exceptional circumstances :-\
