make sure you squeeze the air out the bottles once filled because they can explode ;) If one does explode and you have been paid for showing someone how to do it you could be in big trouble. This came from a mate who works with hot water bottles and is qualified. So don't ignore

I invented hot water bottles so think i know a bit more about this than either of you.Mallet you're a fool if you think you can pass this off as your idea, and stu mac you are quite right and the bottles that mallet sourced from the market have no CE mark and are in fact illegal.Nowhere does he mention that a hot water bottle sticker is reqiured on the back door either. This will all end in tears.

no need for all the negative comments . just trying to help some fellow windys out with a cheap hot system . gonna put a sticker on the back of the van . my mate down the pub who does a bit of leci work and lives next door to a plumber says it should be well safe , just keep an eye on the amount of air in the bottles. slumpy didnt mean to steal yor thunder , how long you been using this method . do you puy your bottles in those jackets to keep em warmer ,   gonna put a couple in the front of the van while driving .  nice n toastie ;D

On a serious note.

When i did in fact invent the on demand system i included it in my marketing. Whenever i used the word hot is did it like this, hot , both on the side of my van and on leaflets. This was in fact counter productive and has negative connotations.I now use the phrase - heated water system.

Be careful with 100 of those puppies in one small van. The smell of warm rubber they give off could be worse than the carbon monoxide from a flueless gas heater. i imagine just 3 or 4 could send you as wobbly as sniffing glue.
also be sure to put a cage on them and strap them down. they'd be like grenades if you had to emergency stop. Have you not considered Thermos flasks. i think you'd find them much easier to transport safely.

well you try and help guys out and this is what you get nothing but people pulling your idea to bits and bringing up pointless safety issues. . maybe its jealousy with some of you guys or maybe some of you just enjoy arguing . then we wonder why some of the guys who used to come on here and post really hepful info no longer bother  , its down to getting negative put downs . and this  is another hepful tipster who might not bother again

ahh come barry we are just warning of the dangers, i think the idea is great, but I wouldn't charge for it in case of comebacks, I mean do you have liability insurance for the fitting of hot water bottles.

I know you are just trying to do the guys a favour but watch your own back first mate. ;)

by the way the fluffy cover is a good idea to keep the bottles insulated

ok stu good point about the liability insurance , maybe i shouldnt charge , but my mate says it should be a doddle. as long as you check for air in the bottles , and make sure there strapped down when travelling . as for the other negative points , why is it a ticking time bomb , you dont give any reason . and as for having a CE mark , no they dont have one . but the guy down the market has a very good rep , he has been in the country at least 6 months . so no need to think they are illegal. hope you all get frozen off while im working >:( >:(

thats a ridiculous idea....hot water bottles indeed.

i use empty milk containers.

they are ok, but i think i need to start using the plastic ones as the cardboard ones get a bit soggy. ;D
