How long did it take?
« on: December 15, 2010, 07:01:10 pm »
I started working as a WFP windy around a month ago - after researching it for a couple of yrs & wanting the outdoor, physical lifestyle.
Thing is, the way its going & with this weather, i am not feeding the family on what im earning :(

A question for the established blokes out there - how long did it take to get a round which at least pays your bills & any short cuts or good advice, more than welcome.

- thanks in advance.

I got to the minimum  ££ required stage after 4 months from starting out

Door knocked every day...      put all new cleans on 1 day each week to allow max canvassing time then placed them onto
required rounds.
then as it progressed i would canvass the forthcoming cleaning areas the week before so they went straight onto th
round.

Four months to get 1k per month 12months to get to 2k.
But I only clean 9 til 2pm. So part time compared to some.
I used leaflets , targeted the same area 3 times on a monthly
Rota, it worked a treat . Biggest tip is to take your time
Clean frames and doors get the immaculate first time round
Then it will take next to no time on subsequent cleans.
Also I never took on cheap cleans always priced high and if
I did the job quicker than expected I would reduce the price
Afterwards . I picked up a fair few recommendations from
Doing this.Got a nice healthy round now, although it's proving
To be a little challenging finishing at 2pm at the moment
Buy that's what I set out to achieve too work five hours a day

smudger, that is very impressive. And a good tip leafletting 3 months in a row. I've never done that before, but will do in after xmas.

careless david, make sure you are claiming tax credits.

That's what i was going to say.

I was making enough to live on after a few months ( I did buy a lot of work though), but I couldn't live on that now!
As your income goes up so does your lifestyle!

It pretty much stayed that way until a couple of years ago, when i decided to push it a bit more.
Now I aim for an increase every year. And I'll get it.

You need to leaflet the same area , it works a treat .
Use printcarrier for leaflets keep them simple but eye catching

Cheers Mark it was bl@@dy hard work but paid off, i had 2 months wages from a redundancy so it needed
to work, thankfully i now bring in over twice what i did when working for prodrive making rally and F1 parts.  ;)

it's pays it the long term as well, been to busy to seriously canvass since sept, but new customers are
steadily coming in from ads, van, and people i spoke to upto a year ago.
