As my van is approching 308,000 miles on the clock i wondered how far you have pushed a van. I wasn`t going to keep it but im now curious as to how far it will go.

I've done nearly 26,000 in mine!

Mate of mine had an old Merc van with 333,000 on it at one point. Don't know how many more he did though...

The most I've personally witnessed is 350k on a transit minibus! Still in good nick & still working daily!

This is a good subject because ive been looking at vans but most are about 100,000 miles and when buying a car all i know is try to get something under 50.000 miles would 100,000 be like 50,000 miles in car terms

Basically when should mileage be a put off for vans?

my van is on an 05 plate and done 24 k. not surprised though done a full days work today and only drove 11 miles. at this rate, don't think we will ever see 100k.

i once had a renualt master van for a courier job i had.in 3 years from new it done 350.000 miles and never had a problems apart from normal wear

When I first started I got a contract with BOC Gist (distributors for Marks and Spencers)

Their wagons were serviced every six weeks and could keep rolling for 23 hours a day. It was not uncommon
to look at the miles on the clock and quite a few read 1.5 million miles.

I have just bought an Iveco Daily 55 reg. There is a vast difference in quality. Went to look at a local one 07 reg, 140000 on the clock, what a shed.

Mine 36000 on the clock, two years older and doesn't look like a herd of elephants has had a go at it!!!! be prepared to look around.

I once had a Nissan Sunny van and I used it for trad window cleaning for 9 years.  It was nearly three years old when I bought it.
I took it up to about 142k and the engine was running sweetly and smoothly.  I had it serviced twice a year regularly by a place that did it properly (it was petrol) and I didn't thrash it.  I did actually sell it in the end.  There was some rust but mechanically it was so smooth.  It was still on the original clutch too.  I used to see it around about 4 years after I sold it but not in recent times.  If I had kept it, I reckon it could have done a quarter million so long as the rust was kept at bay.

My 1999 (V) Fiesta van has 125000 miles on it. I bought it in March with 116000 miles, so I should get a few years out of it!

I also have a 1984 Austin Mini City, which I have had from new, and has done 200,000 miles.
I would add, though, that it hasn't moved for 10 years, as the bodywork fell apart before the mechanicals did. Hoping to resurrect it one day!

guys this got me curious so I checked the mileage on our vans today.  The expert has 150k on it and the transporter has 59k - to  be honest the expert is still going well, it is starting to show its age a bit and I'm sure it will start to give problems in the next year or two but still a great van

I've had Escorts before.  I'm really not sure what you expect to happen when you put your foot down.  Mine just used to grumble a bit louder  .  I would probably still have the second Escort were it not for going WFP.  I needed something larger once that happened.

150000+ on a van these days is nothing as long as its been looked after,    i would happly buy a high milage van, that has been looked after as they are cheaper

My old taxi had over 400,000 on the clock when I sold it to a friend who ran it for another two years before writing it off in an accident. It must have had at least 500 on it.

Cheating a little as it has had 3 new engines an 2 new gearboxes in the 9 years I've had it.
