Just a thought,
I am thinking of leafleting in February. How far do you travel from base for a average job.
I was thinking of a 7 mile circumference from home. I am in quite a highly populated area.

My target area is Hu17 if you look at google maps you will see 40k homes within 5 miles all in the middle to high price bracket. If you are the same type of area then why travel any further.

I bet if you looked into it deeply you could come up with a formula to work out how far you need to travel....

so 50.000 potential customers

40 carpet cleaner within that 20 miles so they all have 12500 customers each!!!!

40 into 50,000 is 1250  , still about 25 jobs per week each, plus commercial premises.

yep your right, so from that formulas it looks spot on....... but imagine if there is only 20 carpet cleaners in that area  or worse 60

I cover the highlands of Scotland so I can travel anywhere up to 150 miles. A trip of fifty miles is quite common for me.

We have a lot of c cleaners in the cheshire area and plenty of newbies so guess they will travel to get the work..

Most of my jobs are in the town i live harrogate, but I advertise that I'll travel 25 miles, but as others say will go anywhere if it pays, I went to central London to do a £300 job for a clients daughter with a stay in a hotel thrown in

 I think everyone knows when a newbie comes into their area, I don't know all my rivals personally but I know company names, not really hard to spot when a new one arrives on the scene.

My average drive to my first job from home is probably around
4 miles. 3 or 4 jobs a day and I still only do around 14 miles
round trip.
Tuesday got 4 jobs, 4 mile drive then maybe 2 miles to cover
all 4 then 4 back home.

Mostly I would guess 7 or 8 mile, I have 1 to do 25 miles away but that's £620.
