Ive just got in from shopping and just checked on my machine and there was a very thin layer of ice maybe a  mm thick not even that in the water tank ive brought the machine in the house.
Should have brought it in yesterday i know but end up having a few to many at a family do. 
I am just going to let defrost in the house by its self is this the best thing to do and will it be ok , will there be any damage.

You just can't tell, I would let it dry out tonight then try it tomorrow.

Same as shaun said its the pumps that freeze and expand that will do the damage.

Thanks for the quick replies lads fingers cross it will be ok could really do without having to spend money this time year still got the kids presents to get and the window side off the business is not doing anything in this weather

what pump do you have?

DO NOT run the pump until you're sure there's no ice in the system!!

First thing I would do is put an open-ended hose onto the solution outlet, to allow for expansion.

then I would fill it with water and heat it up to defrost the plumbing, let it sit for an hour, run the vacs to get a bit of extra heat in there and then run the pump.  Make sure it's outside when you start the pump up otherwise you might have a small flood to deal with

p.s. freezing water obviously expands and it will find the weakest point in the system.  This might be a hose connection, rather than the pump itself

just let the machine defrost to night also the hoses and wands , fill up then turn on machine first to check for lecks , then hoses and wands , best of luck , let us know how you get on ,

Got man flu now so i left it  lastnight and today and ill leave tonight again and have a look at it tomorrow ill let you all know how i get on

Now im over the man flu i fired up my machine and it all working the for the replies
