XMAS WORK PLAN-TRAD & 7 DAY WEEK!
« on: December 03, 2010, 07:46:11 pm »
this weather could last at least another 2 weeks, maybe up until xmas or (dare i say it!)into the new year!! ::) ::).

what plans have you got if it does?will you be taking the whole month off and be going back after xmas?

heres my plan from monday.

1.forget wfp leave equipment at home!!

2.bucket/ladders/trad pole/screenwash!

3.revert back to trad with the odd ladder use to safe windows/trad pole for other windows.

4.start at 10 and work until 3 or 4pm.

5.work EVERY day including sat and sun even if its only for 3-4 hours.

im having 2 weeks off at xmas because im going to new york so i want to get as much cash in before i go!i usually get plenty of tips as well!ive finished all my xmas shopping and wrapped them so no worries there.just think i need a plan of action to take me through this very difficult weather with a fat wedge in my pocket!! ;D ;D ;D ;D.

WHAT DO YOU THINK GUYS!!I HAVE WORK PILING UP NOW!!! ;D ;D

My plan for next week is to carry a shovel and fill with hot water via the di. I have insulated the tank, so hopefully will not lose too much heat. and if I have to dig myself out and in to spaces so be it. and I may even buy some spikes for my boots

Customers seem to really like their windows cleaned prior to Christmas.  If that's their only option; I'm sure they'd go for it.  As long as it's not 8.00 am.  ;D

yes ive worked the odd sunday in the past.usually at this time of year!i dont start earlier than 11am and finish around 3 ish.some custies give you the"working sundays?"routine but if they dont want their windows doing they can wait til next year(which will be another 6 weeks if their lucky!)to have them cleaned! ;D ;D ;D

as for safety aspect i told my custies i converted to make my worklife easier and more profitable with the safety aspect as a bonus!! ;D ;D ;D ;D

seriously i didnt bang on too much about safety!just that it cleans better and can reach them awkward windows mainly!! ;) ;D ;D ;D

most will understand that im just trying to scratch a living together in these difficult extremely cold weather days!!ill be trad poling anything risky or missing it out this time.

regards

Even though I am not WFP I am with you Daz.  Got to get back out there even if i do not get around them all I still need to earn some money.  Off to buy a bag of sand to put at the foot of ladders for a bit of stability.

To keep on going forget about ladders and wfp just use trad pole with applicator and squeegee.

As for the snow around here is compact and it has frozen and snowed again on top I wouldnt use ladders or wfp, just my trad pole.
 ;D

No need to work sundays just the usual work day. But I did use wfp on thursday morning in town centre without anything freezing up (as my wfp is a cold water one).

Doesn't look too bad here for next week. Got out every day and will do a bit tomorrow. Before this damn weather started we had booked in our people who wanted 'close to Christmas cleans' but now need have had to rethink plans to get everyone in. It's doable as long as we don't get much more snow :)

Managed to get 6 hours in.  It was thawing more and more as the day goes on with the very light rain helping.  Got to work tomorrow so hope it does not freeze too much
