Phone stops ringing when snow arrives
« on: November 30, 2010, 04:21:05 pm »
This is only my second year as a CC,but do you find that as soon as we get a sprinkle of snow, the calls dry up?

Luckily ive got work booked in from quotes done last week, but strange that snow arrived in Leeds on Friday(Not had one call since).

Simply it does put potential customers off, with exception are those moving out of rented and who must get it done.

The trick is to have so much work booked you are sort of relieved when the phone stops ringing off the hook or you get a cancellation.
It's not expensive, you just can't afford it.

Its bound to put some off mate and with there thinking if we get it cleaned the kids and dogs etc will mess it up when the slush comes i guess.

My customers ring me to let me know the road conditions and to confirm that we are still coming - I like my customers and they like me

wait till it clears then the phone will ring twice as much, especially with all the slush walked in to houses and all the cancellations and people who have put it off till it picks up

I will always give it a go but I like to know when to push the stop button.
Pre phoned the first custy today to let her know I'll give it a go at getting up the hill where she lives, but if it doesn't look good then I'll have to re-arrange. Got to that one ok.
Second job same speech. This one lived down the bottom of a street. Got the street before the required one and decided this was never going to work, I might get down the hill (obviously ;D) but the odds were stacked against getting back out again ;D. Seemed strange calling a custy from 50 yeards away to say "No it's not going to happen today."
Luckily I had a nice flood job come in this morning which meant I could get to it earlier than expected.
