What are you larger companies {Lee and Co} doing in the sub zero weather re WFP this coming week? I would appreciate a bit of advice re H & S as I do not want to cause any accidents through slips on ice from water I have left on the ground.
It's -5 here this morning, with the ground temp even lower and the next few days look like the same conditions. Last week I started work later in the day and finished early but depsite this, there was ice forming at every job. I squeegied the water on the ground toward the nearest drain and put plenty of salt down but still some places were a bit icy.
I have £5 mil P & L ins but don't want to find out the hard way I am not covered due to stupidity 
As always, any advice is really appreciated.

we wont be doing any WFP work in conditions below freezing so will be organising work so internal jobs can be done first thing then get on the WFP when temperatures rise above freezing all WFP work will probably need to stop around 3pm as temperature is likely to fall below freezing after this, we will also see what jobs we can do safely traditionally, we have 2 large pressure washing jobs booked this week these will have to be postponed for obvious reasons.

I was thinking the same thing, Water will be still on the ground whether you wfp at 10 am or 3pm, It will be not evaporating in this weather, even if its just a thin film left by the end of the day, It will still freeze!!

sunny lancashire, and unless its raining  the water used by WFP has always gone in about half an hour it might not be called evaporation it may have just drained into surface but it has dissapeared go outside and do one of your own windows the water on window may still be there after half an hour but on the ground it will have gone

Silly question but does the water freeze on the glass when cleaning trad?

It doesn't look like it will get warmer than -2c this week so any water on the ground will freeze instantly. Esp any north facing windows, these will be colder.

Try one of your own windows and you will see.  :

I've read a few places that it'll be 0 or better all week, so I don't know where that was from.
I don't think you've got anything to worry about this week.

Not really sure what the ground looks like where you guys are, but we have a foot of snow so there is ice everywhere. If you are squeegeeing doorstep etc and salting you are leaving it safer than when you arrived no matter how much water you chuck around.

I tend to find the water has turned to ice long before it hits the floor anyway, and as its landing on snow ice anyway it makes no odds.
