-6.5 and alls well...
« on: November 28, 2010, 08:30:34 am »
I knew it was going to be cold last even though im not working today i thought id take some precautions.

I put a small 500watt oil filled radiator in the back of the van. then folded an old dust sheet up and covered the ro wich is in the garage.

Checked everything this morning and everything is still running and frost free.

Surprisingly the hosepipe that feeds my ro is left just on the ground with no protection is still ok too.

Happy days...

Given that we have started winter early this year and obviously last years issues...will the thought of continued freezing weather tempt you back to ladders?

Watching the weather report this morning, they reckon it was minus 17 or something in Powys (North Wales I think) last night.
Sod that

Yep.  I've a domestic inside and out (£90), booked first thing Monday morning.  The lady has taken time off work to be there; it's a first clean, so it looks like it's ladders time.

I think I'll just plod along using ladders till it warms up a bit.  Some of my work is more than suitable for ladders and I'll just miss any dodgy windows.

-5 here in Notts, it was -9 at 6.00 this morning.
I can remember when waking up stiff in the morning was a good thing.

Been -4 or 5 here all day. Very cold for a daytime.

Supposed to get to 0 or above all week now in the daytimes, no worries about not working.

27 degrees here in Plymouth; just washed my t-shirt and shorts ready for the morning; put out the sun cream and shades; just hope the sun stroke isn't too bad this week!!!

Seen the snow on the tv; couldn't believe it; never snows here, or rains ;)
