Well i think ive finally whitled my new van down to a new shape transit, its the only one that really ticks all my boxes, im going for the swb med roof so its a lot smaller than my current hi roof lwb model, all id like to know is if anyone is runnng one and how they find the van? whats the mpg like? any niggles, just want to make sure before i make the plunge really

I have the 06 old shape.... just missed the new one...

i cant really help you, as i do not know how upgraded the specifications are,

but i do know, mine is absolute rubbish on fuel,  always has been.

yes ive got the old one the 2,4 and it aint that good, but then again im lugging round nearly a ton of gear all the time so what do i expect haha. just hoping the newer 2.2 tdci front whhel drive is better

we have the 59 plate swb, low roof van, very nice to drive, probably getting around 25 - 30mpg with staff driving,

I have a 58 plate mid roof mwb  its also lpg and it great on fuel great van alround really

the place i was at today also had the vito, this van was another one that really interested me until the fella told me that they are WORSE on the fuel, this really suprised me as i thought i was going to be tempted by one as the size was quite nice

yes i looked at these as well cos the reviews are excellent, the issue i had though and why ive come to the transot is that i have two kids, one is 3 and a half and the other is 6 months and i need to take them/ pick them up from nursery and other stuff, the transit is the only van that has the pasenger seats than can do this, unless i go to the next size of van like the sprinter, but thats defeating the object of downsizing my current van

I used to drive them in my old job, really nice vans to drive,really nice all round really. I cannot comment on fuel consumption as it was a works vehicle that we had a fuel card for and did as fast as the van could go when ever possible.

Well, peugeot expert do 3 seats,...as do the vivaro.

to be fair, i love the transit van.... it has gave me no problems whatsoever... apart from wheel bearing going right now...

it has good comfort ,plenty of cab room... armrests, and all the other things a car has....

i will get another transit next time too.

its the fuel consumption on mine,... but i dont know if im being tight...

as i went from an , astra, to expert then transit.... so it may be a shock to only get 20mpg.... (full tank Water)......

I've got an 05 trannie bought in 07 ex BT with 19 000 on the clock. Have done 120 000 in it and apart from the usual, only one repair which was a new cambelt (£380). I had an 02 before that and done about 140 000 without a single repair bill other than servicing. Best vans I've ever owned having driven vans for the last 30 years. Very comfortable ride also especially when loaded up but are s-l-o-w uphill.

Trannies have good milage if you take things easy but if you thrash it, the milage drops drastically. I drive a lot on motorways and generally get 50 to 55 mpg at between 60 - 65mph. Don't know about in town because I don't really do much driving in them.
