Wondering who the cheapest is now for window cleaning wfp van insurance.  My premium with A plan has gone up by about 30% even though I've had another clean year driving.

try stephen ayre at G.T.Insurance, very helpful, he will be able to insure you,if you say george gave you the number i would appreciate it, his  number is 0115 9394747, been in insurance a long time, we have started going to him now as helpful and competetive, i have just asked him to do my other van which is due in the next week or so, all our vans are with steve and will be loking to go over to steve for public liability & employers liabillity when ours is due, hope this helps.

go compare go compare  they gave me a quote of 608 fully comp with only passing my test 1 month ago. citreon berlingo s reg aswell, well chuffed     just looked they recommended express insurance thats who my policy is with

I've been looking on Gocompare because my van is due soon. I'm a bit worried about whether the tank counts as a modification. My present insurer said it wasn't but I don't want to have an accident and then find they start quibbling.

yes it defininatly counts as modification if bolted inl, if strapped in in may not be - but you would need to check, i have been asked in the past to prove that is was fitted proffesionaly and by a company not ourselfs, (not recently thou). some insurances are only covering upto a certain tank size as well, imho not declaring tank would be a big mistake if anything happens

Try commercial vehicle direct. Tell them you have a tank in and they will know what your on about. I have just had my renewal price off them and of course its gone up, But I have literally just got 3 points on my licence

Also dont only use one comparison site,
They vary heavily,
Both sites quoted me very different prices on the same insurers.

Aviva, express or post office have always been the cheapest for me.

Tank bolted would be a modification, not bolted pretty sure would still be carriage of own goods.

Just insured my first van with tank strapped in (350 ltrs).
I was informed that the tank when full causes the vehicle to handle totally differently.
If you don't inform the insurers about the tank and you have an accident, the policy would be a very expensive piece of waste paper.
PS. I went with A Plan as they offered best price with protected no claims, proper cover etc. Cost me £660 though, but i know i'm fully covered.

I'm with Autonet they tried to increase my premium this year. But when I said that I had got a cheaper quote elsewhere they reduced it by £100!! So best shop around. My tank was fitted by my local mot garage. Bolted to the chassis of my Connect.
